Our Senior Pastor

Rev. Alwin Joy first came to Kanpur in 2006 from Kerala - a young Bible College student completing his internship at NLFAG. For six months, he served faithfully alongside the church's founding team. God connected his heart to the vision and the people of Kanpur in ways he didn't fully anticipate.

When his internship ended, he returned to complete his studies - with no plan to come back. "He never wanted to come back to Kanpur," as the church remembers it. But God's plan and purpose were different.

In 2007, as Bro. Varghese transitioned to another assignment, God brought Rev. Joy to lead NLFAG's ministries. Then in April 2008, after graduating from Bible College, he answered God's call and returned to Kanpur - this time, to stay.

The early years were not without cost. Leadership shifts, members moving away, and the weight of serving largely alone tested his resolve. He considered staying just one year and moving on. But God held him firm - strengthening him step by step, season by season.

As he remained obedient, God began to move powerfully. People came. Leaders were raised up. Churches were planted. A Bible Training Centre was launched. NLFAG became a sending church - a blessing to congregations across India and beyond.
